Pandemic – The Short Version

The Covid-19 pandemic struck in March of 2020, and here’s what I’ve been doing for the past year and change:

  1. Oregon shut down roughly on St. Patrick’s Day, 2020. My job shut down (mostly) a week later. My hours were reduced to 2-3 a week.
  2. I started baking and gardening to pass the time. And watching everything I could on TV, including a full Gilmore Girls rewatch.
  3. I gained eleventy-million pounds in about a minute.
  4. The garden looked great.
  5. I filed for unemployment, which I eventually received. Including the extra $600 per week. Whee!!
  6. My main job restarted in June, 2020, full time. I went back to work. (I work in an office, all alone.)
  7. I helped the business owners deal with shifting Covid regulations in two states to try to keep the businesses afloat/open.
  8. PPP loans were approved for said businesses. Heart-rates went back to normal.
  9. Darling husband taught online only through the fall, then went to hybrid learning in early 2021. He had kids back in the class room four days a week starting in April 2021.
  10. I had a number of vacations and cruises cancelled.
  11. Disneyland remained closed to me for over a year AND they cancelled all Annual Passes. This hurt.
  12. All in this house are vaccinated. All my sprogs are vaccinated, which makes this mama bear very happy.
  13. As of yesterday, my county is officially at low risk. Things are opening up.
  14. I have a Disneyland trip and two cruises planned for the next year.
  15. I’ve missed hugs. I’ve missed people. I’ve missed you.

I hope you are well, that you and yours came through the pandemic unscathed. Let’s try to take care of our fellow humans and keep the spirit of generosity and caring alive, even if there’s no pandemic.
